In Tetris, the goal is not just to clear lines quickly, but to build a clean stack that stays flexible for future pieces. At the beginning of a run, keep the surface as flat as possible and avoid creating deep gaps that are hard to fill later. Use rotation early and often to place each shape in a way that supports your long-term board health. A smart habit is to reserve one side column as a drop lane for long pieces, but only if the rest of your stack remains stable. If you panic-drop pieces without checking the next shape position, your board will rise unevenly and limit options. Focus on smooth placements first, then increase speed when you feel in control. When a bad piece arrives, choose the safest location rather than forcing a risky setup. Small singles and doubles can be better than waiting too long for a perfect clear. Watch for overhangs and cavities, because they often cause quick game overs. On mobile controls, tap once per move instead of rapid random taps to avoid accidental misplacement. The best Tetris players think one or two moves ahead, maintain a clean center, and recover calmly when mistakes happen. Consistent board management is the key to high scores.
